Barbra Streisand released a video today showing Daisy Ridley and Anne Hathaway singing At the Ballet as part of her new album, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway which will release on August 26, 2016. The video of the audio has also been posted.

In the video, Streisand says of Hathaway, “was perfect casting for the role of Maggie. When Anne came into the studio, I was so happy to see her looking radiant and glowing, no makeup, with the beauty of a woman about to give birth to a child.”

As for Ridley, she states that she was “interviewing Daisy Ridley for Gipsy and I said ‘Can you sing?’ and she said ‘Yeah, I can sing.’ I didn’t know whether if that was supposed to be like me in Funny Girl when he says ‘Can you skate?’ I went ‘of course I can skate!’ and then the next minute she’s falling all over the place because she can’t skate. But I took a chance with Daisy and it paid off.”

3 Ideas for Contributing to Your Fandom(s)

0

Chances are that when you join a fandom, you will want to find some way of getting involved. However, you might find yourself drawing a blank as to how you might go about contributing to it. That is why we have come up with 3 ideas on how you can contribute to your fandom(s).

  1. ArtOne of the most admired contributions in a fandom is its members’ fan art. Whether it is a drawing, a clay model, or even a beaded craft, there is no doubt that your work will be appreciated by other fans. What makes it even better is the fact that you can make the piece as you see fit. Perhaps you think a character would look cool doing a special pose? Or maybe you want to make the piece humorous? It is up to you and your skills on how it will turn out. You can even use this as a chance to brush up on or improve your art skills. You can typically find these works on websites like deviantARTTumblr, and Etsy.

  2. Writing: Let’s be honest, when you become a fan of something your mind will probably wander. You will probably think about the direction it is heading in along with all of its potential. You will even ask yourself, “What if this happened,” or find yourself thinking, “This should be a crossover with that.” Fanfiction is yet another beloved contribution to a fandom, and it is one of the easiest ways to contribute because you already know the characters and what you want to happen in the story. You can make it short, lengthy, in an alternate universe, or even just an extension of what already happened. The possibilities are endless. Some of the more well-known websites for fanfiction includes FanFiction.NetWattpad, and AO3.

  3. Cosplay: When you get attached to a show, movie, video game, or book, you will most likely wish you could live in its fictional universe. You might even wish you could be a particular character and take on their qualities for a day. Cosplaying gives people the fun of being part of that universe as they express its characters in whatever way they desire. It also gives people the satisfaction of creating their own costumes, accessories, or even wigs – if they choose to do so. It is especially fun when you can cosplay with friends or at conventions. You can even post your cosplay photos online for others in the fandom to enjoy. Who wouldn’t want to see their favorite characters come to life? You can check out cosplay photos – or post your own – on deviantARTTumblr, and Instagram.

Whether you are a Potterhead or a SuperWhoLock, these 3 ideas are great ways that you can get involved in your fandom(s).

0

With Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 26 fast approaching, they’ve announced their icon for this year’s event.

Chance, who is Jack’s sidekick, will be the icon for this year’s event!

With the “Jack in the Box” on an evidence shelf somewhere waiting for someone to turn the crank once more, Chance bides her time within her cell.

But this is not a tragedy for her. This prison is a toy box. It’s within the confines of her cell that she enters her horrific “theatre of the mind”. She knows that the acts committed inside her mind will manifest in the real. Both equally deranged and gothically beautiful.

Aside from Chance, they’ve already announced The Walking Dead, The Exorcist, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
themed houses.

“Injustice 2” Trailer and Details Released!

0

Injustice fans, this is what you’ve been waiting for!

Playstation announced that Injustice 2 will be coming, the sequel to the 2013 game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game is set to be released on Playstation 4 in 2017. They also released a trailer and more details about the game.

They state they’re doing all of the things that fans would expect in a sequel – they’re adding new characters and environments, while introducing a brand new Gear System. The Gear System will allow players to build their own version of Superman, Batman and the Injustice Universe.

The Gear System uses RPG-like mechanics to reward you with loot drops every time you play the game. With each loot drop, you will earn character-specific gear to outfit and power up your roster – changing not only the look of each character, but your fight strategy and your personal approach to every match. As you gear up your characters, you’re building a roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains that reflects your choices, and your preferences, which can be vastly different than your opponents. A few play sessions in, you can expect your Aquaman to look and play different than anyone else’s Aquaman you may come across.

You can pre-order the game today at Injustice.com!
