The North American premiere of My Hero Academia: You’re Next is now officially set to take place at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 6.
The film, which opened in Japan on August 2, marks the anime series’ fourth theatrical release and the first to be distributed by Toho International. Japanese voice actors Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya) and Kenta Miyake (All Might) will be in attendance at the Hollywood event.
Set after the conclusion of season 6 and prior to the final battle between heroes and villains, My Hero Academia: You’re Next will see Deku and the rest of U.A. High School’s heroes face a new threat — a mysterious figure calling himself “Dark Might” who claims to be the new Symbol of Peace.
My Hero Academia is a Japanese anime series based on Kohei Horikoshi’s manga series, which recently came to an end. It is set in a world where about eighty percent of the population has a superpowered Quirk. Heroes protect people and society from accidents, disasters, and villains—criminals who use their Quirks for evil. The story of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School and their growth, fights, and friendship unfolds as they aim to become heroes.
My Hero Academia: You’re Next, which is produced by Bones, will hit theaters in the U.S. and Canada on Friday, October 11 (English subtitles and English dub).
