Following the show’s early renewal last month, showrunner Eric Kripke has officially announced that Prime Video’s The Boys will end with season 5. The show’s highly-anticipated fourth season, meanwhile, is set to premiere this week.
As seen above, Kripke notes that there was always a five-season plan for the show.
Series stars include Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Season Four also will welcome Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought — the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super-powerful.
Season 4 of The Boys will make its way to Prime Video with a three-episode premiere on June 13. In the meantime, make sure you’re also caught up on the spin-off series — Gen V.
