The movie delves into the early years of the eccentric and enigmatic Willy Wonka, exploring his formative experiences as a magician, inventor, and chocolate maker. With a focus on character development and world-building, Wonka offers an immersive and captivating glimpse into the origins of one of the most iconic figures in children’s literature and cinema.
Directed by Paul King from a screenplay he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby, based on a story by King and characters created by Dahl, the film stars Chalamet, Hugh Grant, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, and Olivia Colman.
