Chaos loves company.
The award winning video game franchise that is central to the looter-shooter genre, Borderlands, is soon to add its name to the list of game-to-live-action adaptations with the release of a movie, the first trailer for which has been released today.
The Borderlands movie comes from Lionsgate with Eli Roth in the director’s seat. The star-studded cast is led by Cate Blanchett as Lillith, an outlaw who returns to her home planet Pandora and forms an alliance with a team of rough outlaws. Together the unlikely team face a dangerous journey involving battling alien monsters and bandits as they search for Atlas’ (Edgar Ramirez) missing daughter, who holds the key to unimaginable power.
Lillith’s team of outcasts includes former mercenary Roland (Kevin Hart), the crazed pre-teen demolitionist Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt) and her protector Krieg (Florian Munteanu), a scientist with a tenuous grasp on sanity Dr. Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), and the iconic smartass robot Claptrap (Jack Black).
