What better way could there be to start off the week than with plenty of long-awaited news about the upcoming My Hero Academia movie?
Following the fourth film’s announcement last year, details have been kept under wraps, but now fans have finally been given a preview of what’s to come in the world of our favorite heroes. The film, the title of which has been revealed to be My Hero Academia: You’re Next, will be released in Japan on August 2!
Check out the first teaser trailer below.
You’re Next will feature a new original story from Kōhei Horikoshi, which will take place prior to the upcoming final battle between the heroes and villains.
A new poster for the film has been released as well.
Based on the manga series that has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2014, Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is set in a world where people are born with superpowers known as Quirks. Despite his lifelong dream of becoming a superhero himself, Izuku Midoriya is Quirkless … until he crosses paths with the world’s greatest hero, All Might, and enrolls in a prestigious high school for heroes in training.
Prior to the release of the film, My Hero Academia‘s seventh season is due to premiere on May 4. The teaser trailer dropped last month during Jump Festa.
My Hero Academia is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
