As part of the 2023 Geeked Week, Netflix has announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep with a teaser trailer for the upcoming movie. Timeline wise, the animated movie takes place right in the middle of season 1 of the live-action series and is an adaptation on the beloved short story A Little Sacrifice by Andrzej Sapkowski.
The description for the movie reads:
“Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.”
Returning from the Witcher 3 video game to lend the iconic voice of Geralt of Rivia is Doug Cockle, with Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra returning from the live-action Witcher series to voice Jaskier and Yennefer. Christina Wren voices Essi Daven, a character who has never appeared in media beyond the original books.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will premiere on Netflix late 2024. Watch the teaser below.
