Netflix Releases New ‘Leave the World Behind’ Clip

Netflix’s Geeked Week is well underway, featuring a variety of original television series, movies, and games from the streamer. Throughout the event, Netflix is offering new clips and trailers, images, updates, and more. Today, the streamer shared a new clip from its upcoming adaptation of Leave the World Behind.

The official synopsis for Leave the World Behind reads:

“In this apocalyptic thriller from award-winning writer and director Sam Esmail, Amanda and her husband Clay rent a luxurious home for the weekend with their kids, Archie and Rose. Their vacation is soon upended when two strangers — G.H. and his daughter Ruth — arrive in the night, bearing news of a mysterious cyberattack and seeking refuge in the house they claim is theirs. The two families reckon with a looming disaster that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world.”

Leave the World Behind is adapted from Rumaan Alam’s novel of the same name. The screenplay was written by Sam Esmail, who also serves as director and producer for the feature. Chad Hamilton, Julia Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill produced. Executive producers include Barack and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Daniel M. Stillman, Rumaan Alam, and Nick Krishnamurthy. The film stars Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Bacon, Myha’la, Farrah Mackenzie, and Charlie Evans.

Leave the World Behind premieres in select theaters on November 22 before heading to Netflix on December 8. Watch the clip below:
