The Shibuya Incident Arc Awaits in New ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Trailer

Share

Following its hit first season that premiered in late 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen finally returned with its second season last month, taking viewers down memory lane with the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc (which explored the history between Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and their friends during their time as students at Tokyo Jujutsu High).

Now, following a brief break, we’re on the cusp of the infamous Shibuya Incident arc, the trailer for which has just been released ahead of season 2’s recommencement next Thursday. Shibuya now brings us back to events in the current day.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, which has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2018. The series, which is still ongoing at this time with 23 tankōbon volumes, follows the story of a high school student named Yuji Itadori. After swallowing the finger of the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, his life is turned upside down as he’s swept up in a secret world of jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits.

If you’ve yet to prime yourself on the events that will take place on October 31, 2018 in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, all I’ll say is … good luck.

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will return with the Shibuya Incident Arc on August 31.
