‘Wrestlers’: Netflix Docuseries Covering Ohio Valley Wrestling to Premiere This September

Netflix announced today that its series documenting one of professional wrestling’s most prominent promotions, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), will premiere next month.

OVW, located in Louisville Kentucky, was the go-to place for wrestlers to ascend to stardom in the WWE. Once a place that housed future WWE Superstars like Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, The Miz, Batista, Randy Orton, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Beth Phoenix, and Mickie James among many others, the gym has fallen on hard times. Al Snow had to sell majority stake to a group of local businessmen including Kentucky radio personality Matt Jones. Though they’re pushing money into the company, it’s still operating at a loss. Wrestlers will document the efforts made by Al Snow and his group of aspiring wrestlers to save the historic gym.

Wrestlers premieres September 13 on Netflix.
