Adam Silvera isn’t done with his They Both Die at the End (TBDATE) universe just yet. In 2021, Silvera revealed that two additional books would join the TBDATE universe as part of a Death-Cast trilogy. The first of the two, The First to Die at the End (TFTDATE), released at the end of last year. Now, Silvera has announced the release date for the currently untitled threequel. The upcoming book will release September 4, 2024. It is not yet available for pre-order.

For now, most details regarding Death-Cast #3 are being kept under wraps. However, Silvera confirmed that the two protagonists will be returning characters from The First to Die at the End. The new book will center on Paz and Alano, who readers first met as children in TFTDATE. Paz is Frankie’s son and Valentino’s neighbor. Alano is Joaquin Rosa’s son. Joaquin is the creator of Death-Cast whom readers met in TFTDATE. Additionally, Silvera confirmed that the forthcoming book is set after the events of They Both Die at the End.

The First to Die at the End takes place seven years prior to They Both Die at the End as Death-Cast first launches its services, with a mixture of responses about how it knows what day someone will die. Despite questions of Death-Cast’s validity, Orion Pagan decides to sign up anyway, wanting to know when he’ll die due to his potentially fatal heart condition. Meanwhile, Valentino Prince is looking forward, but a near-death experience with his twin prompts him to register. As Death-Cast’s services prepare to go live, Orion and Valentino meet and immediately connect. So, when one receives a call and the other doesn’t, the pair set out to live the best End Day possible.

Death-Cast #3 releases September 4, 2024. In the meantime, be sure to purchase The First to Die at the End and They Both Die at the End online or in stores.
