Superman: Legacy, the movie that will spark the new era of DC Universe (DCU) films, has added three additional members to its cast: Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, and Nathan Fillion. The three join the cast headed by the previously announced David Corenswet as the latest version of the Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan as the iconic Lois Lane.
As for the new additions, Merced will take on Hawgirl, whose appearances in the comics date back to the 1940s; Gathegi will portray Michael Holt, aka Mister Terrific, who dates back to 1997 and will potentially lay seeds for the future if his rivalry with Batman is carried into live-action; and Fillion will step into the role of a Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. Guy is a much different version of the Green Lantern character than Hal Jordan or John Stewart, as he is generally less than heroic with the powers bestowed on him with the Green Lantern ring.
Superman: Legacy is currently in pre-production as announced by writer and director James Gunn. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Legacy will mark the cinematic beginning to Gunn and co-DC Studios CEO Peter Safran’s rejuvenated DCU.
This news was first reported by Vanity Fair. Superman: Legacy is currently slated for a July 11, 2025 release.
