Ryan Gosling is “Just Ken” in New ‘Barbie’ Video

Before Greta Gerwig’s Barbie hits theaters later this month, a new video teases a musical moment for Ken in the form of a power ballad “Just Ken”.

In the video which clocks in at one minute and thirty seconds, Ken lets out all his feelings about being referred to as “Ken” but never Barbie and Ken. “Where I see love, she sees a friend, ” Gosling expresses. “What will it take for her to see the man behind the tan?” Written by Mark Ronson, the track includes Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash. “I’m Just Ken” is the latest release from the Barbie soundtrack which includes music from artists like Billie Eilish, Ava Max, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, Tame Impala, Gayle, Lizzo, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, and more.

Gosling’s Ken stars alongside Margot Robbie as Barbie. The supporting ensemble cast includes Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, and Kate McKinnon. Gerwig wrote the film alongside Noah Baumbach (White Noise, Marriage Story)Barbie releases in theaters on July 21.
