Warner Bros. Pictures have released the official trailer for the next installment in the Conjuring Universe, The Nun II. The sequel to the 2018 hit, The Nun is penned by Malignant screenwriter Akela Cooper and directed by The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It director Michael Chaves.
The Nun II, which takes place four years after the first, features the return of Taissa Farmiga to the role of Sister Irene, who will face off against Bonnie Aarons’ Valak, the greatest evil in the Conjuring Universe that originated in The Conjuring 2. Jonas Bloquet is also returning as Frenchie, who was featured heavily in The Nun and can be seen in Ed and Lorraine Warren’s exorcism tapes shown during their lecture in the opening of The Conjuring. New additions to the cast include Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell, and Katelyn Rose Downey.
The synopsis for the sequel reads:
“1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.”
