‘XO, Kitty’ Gets Season 2 Renewal at Netflix
A month following its debut on Netflix, XO, Kitty has officially received a season 2 renewal from the streaming service.
Katherine Song-Covey, a.k.a. “Kitty,” was an integral part of her sister’s story — she sent Lara Jean’s love letters off to their respective owners. Eventually, Kitty forms a crush of her own on a family vacation to Seoul. Now 16, it’s time for Kitty to experience an epic story of her own. When she takes a page out of her mom’s playbook and heads to South Korea to attend the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), she finds out Dae (Minyeong Choi) isn’t all he seemed on their first meeting.
Given Netflix’s investment into novelist Jenny Han’s To All The Boys franchise, it seems a no brainer that they would do the same for the spin-off. With all of Netflix’s YA content — Outer Banks, Wednesday, Ginny & Georgia, All of us Are Dead, Never Have I Ever, and Fate: The Winx Saga — they likely recognize the importance of keeping at least a few teen originals around. Netflix is also committed to investing $2.5 billion into content centered around South Korea, largely after the popularity of titles like Squid Game and The Glory.
The cast includes Anna Cathcart as Kitty, John Corbett returns as Dan Covey, Sarayu Blue reprises her role as Dan’s partner Trina. Gia Yim (Yuri), Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho), Anthony Keyvan (Q), Peter Thurnwald (Alex), Yunjin Kim (Jina), Michael K. Lee (Professor Lee), Jocelyn Shelfo (Madison), and Regan Aliyah (Juliana) also star.
