A first look teaser has been released for Apple TV+’s upcoming drama series, Lessons in Chemistry, starring Brie Larson (Captain Marvel).

Based on author, science editor, and copywriter Bonnie Garmus’ bestselling, debut novel of the same name, Lessons in Chemistry is set in the early 1950s. The series follows Elizabeth Zott (Larson) whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth finds herself fired from her lab, she accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives — and the men who are suddenly listening — a lot more than recipes.

Lessons in Chemistry also stars Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker, and Thomas Mann.

Lee Eisenberg serves as showrunner on the series, which is produced by Aggregate Films. Executive producers include Susannah Grant and Larson, along with Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan for Aggregate Films, Natalie Sandy through Piece of Work Entertainment alongside Eisenberg, and Louise Shore.

Lessons in Chemistry will premiere on Apple TV+ this fall.
