Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny director James Mangold already has his next Lucasfilm project lined up, a film based on the dawn of the Jedi.
Three new films have been announced so far at Star Wars Celebration in London, one being Mangold’s along with a return for the sequel trilogy’s protagonist Rey as she sets out to restore the Jedi and the other a Dave Filoni-led close out to the “Mando-Verse.”
Mangold’s film will be taking a significant step back in time from the earliest film timelines — 25,000 years to be exact. He’s described it as a “Biblical epic” that will explore the origins of the Force, when it was discovered, and how some people were able to harness its power and use it.
No timeline for any of these films has been set.
