‘Barbie’ Character Posters Revealed

Character posters for Greta Gerwig and Mattel’s live-action Barbie film have been released.

The posters themselves confirm a long-standing theory of the film that it would feature multiple versions of both Barbie and Ken. The versions of Barbie are unique and diverse, while Dua Lipa’s is a mermaid, and Issa Rae’s is president, Sharon Rooney is a lawyer, and Hari Nef is a doctor. Barbie really can be and do anything! But the world isn’t full of just Barbie’s and Ken’s — there are humans too! Michael Cera will play Allan Sherwood, a doll introduced in the mid-60s as Ken’s friend. Emerald Fennell is playing Midge, introduced in 1963 as Barbie’s best friend and Allan’s wife. America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Connor Swindells, Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell, and Jamie Demetriou play other human characters.
