Hello … you.
After recently completing its split fourth season run on Netflix, the popular serial killer drama You has been renewed for a fifth and final season on the streamer. Season 5 will have a change of showrunners as well, with executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo taking over for Sera Gamble, who has run the show for four seasons.
Spoilers for season 4 ahead.
With the ending of the most recent London-based season, Joe Goldberg is sitting on top of the world beside his newest partner, Kate. The pair have moved to New York City, Joe has reclaimed his birth name thanks to Kate’s power and influence giving them the opportunity to twist Joe’s story with Love to frame him as the victim.
It’s not perfect for Joe, however, though it may seem that way — he is still experiencing what appears to me to be Dissociative Identity Disorder with his mental version of Rhys Montrose, and though he doesn’t know it, Marienne is alive and unhappy with Joe’s newfound status. With season 5 being the show’s finale, it’s likely we will finally get to see Joe get exactly what he deserves.
