Daisy Edgar-Jones is set for the leading role in Twisters! Twisters will follow the story of a former storm chaser (Edgar-Jones) who left the job after a close call with a tornado. However, circumstances will force her into the role again as she faces down a powerful twister. It is unclear if the film is meant to be a sequel to or a reboot of the classic 1996 action film Twister starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. It is also unknown if Edgar-Jones’ character is connected to the original cast.
Edgar-Jones recently earned her second Golden Globe nomination for her role in Under the Banner of Heaven. She can next be seen in On Swift Horses. Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) will direct Twisters, which was written by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant). There is no word yet on a release date.
