‘Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler’ Cancelled at HBO Max

After three action-packed and often mind- bending seasons, Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler has been cancelled at HBO Max. The series aired on Epix for its first two seasons before moving to HBO Max this past fall. The news comes just after DC Studios announced creative changes and a new direction for its programming, with fellow HBO Max shows Doom Patrol and Titans also ending their runs.

Pennyworth starred Jack Bannon as a young Alfred Pennyworth alongside Ben Aldridge and Emma Paetz as Thomas and Martha Wayne. You can find our interviews with the cast and creative team here.
