Writer-actor Jake Allyn’s directorial debut, Ride, has found its cast.
Set in Stephenville, Texas, known as the “Cowboy Capital,” the film follows a rodeo family desperate to raise the funds to pay for John’s (Howell) daughter’s cancer treatment. He teams up with his estranged son and rising bull rider Peter (Allyn) to go on a heist. Though they are successful in using cowboy tactics, they are left murderers and only have Al (Forrie J. Smith), the eldest but retired bull rider in the family, to turn to. Sheriff Monica Hawkins (Gish), John’s Wife, ends up taking on the case that leaves John and Peter running from their own family. The film is written by Josh Plasse and Allyn.
The film is set to start shooting at the end of January.
