Pain Hustlers starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans is hitting Netflix this fall!
After losing her job, a single mom falls into a lucrative but ultimately dangerous scheme selling prescription drugs.
The pharmaceutical-centric tale is based on the written work of Evan Hughes, who wrote a New York Times article aptly titled “The Pain Hustlers” and follow-up novel The Hard Sell: Crime and Punishment at an Opioid Startup. The story will follow the now-bankrupt company from the early 2000s, Insys Therapeutics, the creator of the drug leading the current opioid crisis, Fentanyl. Blunt will star as a fictional character created to tell this harrowing story.
Produced by David Yates and Lawrence Grey, the film also stars Andy Garcia, Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Brian d’Arcy James & Chloe Coleman.
Pain Hustlers premieres on Netflix on October 27.
