‘Velma’ Gets Official Trailer From HBO Max

Just one day before the show’s premiere, HBO Max has shared the official trailer for new series Velma. Season 1 debuts with two episodes, and episodes will release weekly in pairs.

The adult animated series delves into the origins of Scooby-Doo Mystery Gang member Velma Dinkley (Mindy Kaling), the brains of the bunch. It pulls back the curtain on her life and re-introduces viewers to other familiar faces, including Daphne (Constance Wu), Fred (Glenn Howerton), and Shaggy (Sam Richardson).

The series was created and executive produced by Kaling and showrunner Charlie Grandy. They executive produce alongside Sam Register and Howard Klein. Additional voice cast includes Jane Lynch, Wanda Sykes, Russell Peters, Melissa Fumero, Stephen Root, Gary Cole, Ken Leung, Cherry Jones, Frank Welker, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Fortune Feimster, Yvonne Orji, Sarayu Blue, Nicole Byer, Ming-Na Wen, Shay Mitchell, Debby Ryan, Kulap Vilaysak, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Velma premieres its first two episodes tomorrow, January 12. To find out more on what to expect, check out our press conference coverage from NYCC. Keep up with the rest of our coverage here, and stay tuned for updates as they become available.
