STARZ has decided to give fans of their hit show Outlander an early Christmas treat! This teaser trailer lets viewers know that Droughtlander has an end date. Droughtlander is a term that was given to the long spaces of time when the show is on hiatus or shooting a new season. The name was created by fans of the show. This epic series is heading into its seventh season and a taste of what is to come can be seen below.
In this epic teaser trailer, we can hear Jamie’s voice as he describes a dream of what seems to be Claire in the future. While we listen to Sam Heughan’s soothing voice we get many flashes of dramatic scenes. Viewers see Claire throwing buckets of water on what seems to be a house fire, a declaration paper being ripped down, and Brianna giving birth. Alongside the dramatic, there are also sweet moments of Jamie and Claire, and Jamie showing Brianna fireflies. As the trailer comes to an end we get the shocking visual of Claire on the gallows with a rope around her neck being pulled back from the edge. Outlander never fails to deliver on beautiful and often heart-wrenching emotions and I’m sure this new season will be no different.
The seventh season will bring back all our familiar faces we know and love alongside some new and old returning characters. A few new additions will include Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, Izzy Meikle-Small playing Rachel Hunter, and Joey Phillips as Denzell Hunter. Our returning fan-favorites as always are Caitríona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin. Joining them are John Bell as our favorite Young Ian, David Berry as the gentleman Lord John Grey, Caitlin O’Ryan as Lizzie Beardsley, and Paul Gorman pulling double duty as Josiah and Keziah Beardsley.
