Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has received its first teaser trailer.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot of the film, but it does pay homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It also gives a first look at Robbie and Gosling in action, with the addition of Issa Rae and Simu Liu. It’s based on the beloved doll, Barbie, from Mattel.
Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig who also wrote the film alongside Noah Baumbach (White Noise, Marriage Story).
Barbie is slated to release in theaters on July 21, 2023.
