New York City has a new reason to never sleep — Ghostface.
As long-time franchise fans know, running away from the horrors of Woodsboro does not always ensure that you’ve run away from Ghostface, as will be the case in the upcoming sixth series installment — Scream VI. Centered in New York City for the franchise’s first time, Scream (2022) final girls Sam and Tara will be hunted down by the masked killer and tormented with a new string of horrors.
The sixth installment directly follows the 2022 Scream re-quel with returning survivors Sam, Tara, Mindy, and Chad played by Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding, respectively, all reprising their roles. In addition to the fifth installment’s returning survivors, fan-favorite from Scream 4 Kirby returns with Hayden Panettiere reprising the role. Courteney Cox makes her return as Gale Weathers for the sixth time as well, though the franchise’s original final girl — Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott — is absent from this installment.
The case also includes Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (The Beach House), Devyn Nekoda (Ghostwriter), Josh Segarra (Arrow), Henry Czerny, and more.
The creative team behind 2022’s Scream is returning, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directing, and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to pen the script. Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak will produce with Kevin Williamson, Chad Villella, Gary Barber, and Peter Oillataguerre as executive producers.
