‘Elvis’ Nominated for Seven Critics Choice Awards

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) have announced the film category nominees for the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards. Winners will be revealed during the Awards hosted by Chelsea Handler on Sunday, January 15 beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis has received seven nominations:

  • Best Picture
  • Best Actor — Austin Butler
  • Best Director — Baz Luhrmann
  • Best Production Design — Catherine Martin, Karen Murphy, Bev Dunn
  • Best Editing — Matt Villa, Jonathan Redmond 
  • Best Costume Design — Catherine Martin
  • Best Hair and Makeup

Elvis dives deeper into the dynamic between Presley and Parker, whose relationship spanned over 20 years. From Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America, one of the most significant and influential people in Presley’s life was Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).
