The second season of Vikings spin-off Vikings: Valhalla is due January 12 on Netflix. Today, the streamer shared the official trailer for season 2.

Season 1 chronicles the adventures of some of the most prolific Vikings that ever lived. Sam Corlett leads as Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis Eriksdotter, and Leo Suter as Prince Harald Sigurdsson.

As tensions rise between the Vikings and the English, the English vacate their agreement to peace, and bloodshed ensues. The Vikings refused to agree to follow the new Christian belief system, which causes discourse among their own groups. When season 2 picks up, the Vikings are at war with the Berserkers, led by Jarl Kåre and Olaf Haraldsson. Now, in the thick of hunt, the heroes are on the run. They’re forced to test their ambitions and courage in worlds beyond Kattegat.

Alongside the typical sweaty Viking combat with beautiful scenery, the trailer does give a glimpse at new characters Harekr, the pagan ruler of Jómsborg, a refuge for Pagan Vikings and King Yaroslav the Wise, the ruler of Kyivan Rus’ and the uncle of both Olaf and Harald.
