New Character Posters for ‘The Last of Us’ Released

HBO Max has released 11 new character posters for the upcoming series The Last of Us.

Based on one of the most beloved video game franchises of all time, The Last of Us follows a smuggler Joel Miller as he runs his most precious cargo yet, a 14-year-old girl named Ellie Williams. The two embark on a journey west from Boston in hopes of finding the Fireflies group in an attempt to help them with a vaccine for the Cordyceps infection that ravaged mankind two decades ago. But everything comes with a cost …

The posters showcase so many of the beloved characters from the game including Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller, Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams, Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, Anna Torv as Tess, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Nick Offerman as Bill, Murray Bartlett as Frank, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Nico Parker as Sarah Miller, and Storm Reid as Riley.

The series is co-created by the game’s co-director Neil Druckmann, as well as Craig Mazin of Chernobyl. It has been confirmed that the series will explore the events of the game and other pieces of these characters’ lives that didn’t make the final cut, as well as moments that were seen in the Ellie-based expansion pack for The Last of Us, Left Behind.

The Last of Us will have nine episodes and premieres exclusively on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, January 15 at 9 p.m. ET.
