ABC has released the first-look image of its highly anticipated hybrid live-action and animated special, Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration starring H.E.R. and Josh Groban.
The breathtaking image features H.E.R. in a gorgeous and sophisticated suit in the same golden shade as Belle’s iconic ball gown from the animated film. Groban is representing the Beast in a stylish blue cloak. The duo is standing in front of two storybooks filled with sketches giving a taste of what to expect. See the image below.
The two-hour event will pay tribute to the Oscar-nominated Disney classic in celebration of its 30th anniversary. It will feature new, never-before-seen musical performances, brand-new sets, and breathtaking costumes inspired by the classic film.
The star-studded cast will also feature Martin Short playing Lumière, Shania Twain as Mrs. Potts, David Alan Grier as Cogsworth, Rizwan Manji as LeFou, Jon Jon Briones as Belle’s father, Maurice, and Leo Abelo Perry as Chip. The legendary Rita Moreno will narrate.
Directed by Hamish Hamilton, the celebration will be taped in front of a live audience at Disney Studios and will air on Thursday, December 15, from 8-10 p.m. EST on ABC and Disney+ the next day.
