‘Girls5eva’ Renewed for Season 3 and Moves to New Home

Netflix announced today that it acquired season 1 and 2 of Girls5eva and renewed the comedy series for a season 3. Previously streaming on Peacock, Girls5eva follows a former girl group who come out of retirement after a rapper samples one of their hits. After being away for so long, they are shocked to find that the music industry and themselves have changed, so they are now forced to navigate what it means to be famous in the digital age.

Girls5eva stars Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry as the members of the reunited girl group. Also starring in the series is Daniel Breaker, Jonathan Hadary, Ashley Park, Andrew Rannells, and Janine Brito. The series is executive produced by Meredith Scardino and Jeff Richmond, who also write many of the original songs that have been featured on the series.
