Hugh-ge news for the third Deadpool installment: Hugh Jackman will reprise his iconic role as Wolverine once more in the film, which is officially set to release September 06, 2024.

Jackman has been playing Wolverine since 2000’s X-Men, and while 2017’s Logan was believed to be the last time he would bring the role to the screen, that is no longer the case as he will bring the character to screen for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.

The third cinematic installment to the Deadpool franchise will be directed by frequent Ryan Reynolds collaborator Shawn Levy, as was announced earlier this year in March. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also returning for the third installment after penning the scripts for Deadpool and Deadpool 2 as well.

Deadpool 3 is the first movie in the Deadpool franchise that Marvel Studios will have a hand in following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Studios. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige previously revealed while speaking to Collider that Deadpool 3 will, in fact, be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and retain its R-Rating.
