The next Star Trek film set to reunite J. J. Abrams cast is officially being taken off the Paramount slate … at least for now.

One month after Matt Shakman exited the film as director, Star Trek 4 is shopping for someone new to helm the fourth saga. Star Trek 4 was originally slated to premiere in theaters on December 22, 2023, with filming set to begin at the end of this year.

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, and Simon Pegg have been together since 2009’s Star Trek, which produced two sequel films, 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond in 2016.

Stay tuned for updates on Star Trek 4.
