Ahead of the season 2 premiere next week, Abbott Elementary has added three new guest stars to its ranks. Leslie Odom Jr., Lauren Weedman, and Keyla Monterrosa Mejia will be featured in the upcoming season.

Odom Jr. will play Draemond, who owns a number of charter schools and takes a trip to Abbott. Weeman will play a “tough-talking” teacher named Kristin Marie. She comes from a neighboring school and is rather similar to one of Abbott’s teachers. Mejia will play an Abbott teacher aide named Ashley, “whose go-with-the-flow personality contributes to classroom chaos.”

Abbott Elementary follows a group of teachers at an under-funded school in Philadelphia. Despite their lack of resources, the teachers strive to give their students the best education they can.

The show is created, executive produced, and written by Quinta Brunson. She stars in the show alongside Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chris Perfetti, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, and William Stanford Davis.

Abbott Elementary returns on Wednesday, September 21 on ABC. Keep up with our coverage here.
