Marvel Studios Reveals Director for Upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ Film

The Marvel Studios panel is officially underway at the D23 Expo 2022, and with it comes some news about the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

Fantastic Four was initially helmed by MCU Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts, though it was announced in April that Watts had exited the project due to a desire to work on projects outside of the superhero genre. Now, the studio has announced that the film will be in the very capable hands of Matt Shakman, the director behind fellow Marvel Studios’ project WandaVision.

A cast has yet to be announced for the film.

Fantastic Four will mark the beginning of Phase 6 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is set to release November 8, 2024. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for more updates.
