A new trailer for DC’s superhero movie Black Adam was released by Warner Bros., showing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as an anti-hero who’s not afraid to kill:

Via Warner Bros., the official description for the trailer reads:

“In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed and Black Adam has gone from man, to myth, to legend. Now released, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.”

Hawkman is played by Aldis Hodge, who was fantastic in Regina King’s One Night In Miami, and also features Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and fan-favorite Noah Centineo of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Netflix franchise as Atom Smasher. Academy-Award winning actress Viola Davis will reprise her role as Amanda Waller, who first appeared in Suicide Squad.

Johnson also shared a first look at the film’s poster on Twitter:

Stay tuned for more coverage as the film comes out in theaters on October 21!
