Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae has joined the cast of Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars mystery-thriller series The Acolyte, which will take audiences to a galaxy far, far away filled with darkness.

Originally announced during Disney’s 2020 Investor Day event, very little information has been revealed about the series, which will be brought to screen by Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland. While plot details are still a well-kept secret, we do know that The Acolyte will take place during the final days of the High Republic era. The High Republic, which was the golden age of the Jedi, began around 200 years prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Amandla Stenberg is another confirmed cast addition for the series, as was announced in July. Jodie Turner-Smith is another addition to the series.

The Acolyte does not currently have a release date. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for updates.
