Release Date Announced for MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World
It has been announced that the new MagicBand+ will be released at Walt Disney World on July 27.
The new MagicBand+ will perform all of the functions of the current MagicBand. This includes entering parks by tapping your bands, linking to Disney PhotoPass, entering your resort hotel room, and more.
However, there are lots of added extras that you get with MagicBand+, which will make you want to purchase one! You can participate in a bounty hunt in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where the lights and vibrations on your MagicBand+ will guide you on your journey. It will also light up and vibrate during nighttime spectaculars, including “Harmonious” and “Disney Enchantment.”
Specially for the 50th anniversary celebrations, you will also be able to interact with the golden Fab 50 character statues that have been placed around the four theme parks. With a wave of your arm, the statues will talk to you, and with the help of the Play Disney Parks app, you will be able to collect the statues and unlock an augmented reality feature.
From July 27, MagicBand+ will be available in more than 25 designs at select stores at Walt Disney World or online at shopDisney. Prices begin at $34.99, but Annual Passholder discounts will be available, and Disney Resort hotel guests will be able to pre-purchase at a special price prior to their arrival. MagicBand+ will be available at Disneyland Resort later this year.
