‘Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai’: Zach Galligan to Make His ‘Gremlins’ Return in Upcoming HBO Max Animated Series

2 Min Read

Zach Galligan, who played Billy Peltzer in the original Gremlins film franchise, is reuniting with the infamous Mogwai Gizmo.

The exciting announcement came during the San Deigo Comic-Con panel, where Galligan made a surprise appearance revealing that he will be joining the Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai cast in a recurring guest role.

Sandra Oh, Randall Park, George Takei, and Bowen Yang will also join Galligan as series guest stars alongside series leading cast Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, and Izaac Wang.

The animated prequel series follows the close-knit Wing family, with 10-year-old Sam Wing (the shop owner in the 1984 film Gremlins) in the center, revealing how he met the infamous Mogwai called Gizmo. Rich in China’s culture and mythology, the audience will be taken back to the 1920s when the Wing family discovers the mysterious and unique creature and how Sam embarks on the dangerous journey to bring Gizmo home. The duo meets Elle, and together they encounter and fight the colorful creatures of Chinese folklore.

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will debut this year on HBO Max and will be available on Cartoon Network as part of ACME night.
