Dust off those treasure maps (preferably not the ones on historical documents) and get ready for a new adventure. During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Disney+ shared a behind-the-scenes featurette and brief teaser for its upcoming National Treasure series, officially titled National Treasure: Edge of History!

The BTS clip offers the first footage at the upcoming series. A few of the cast members share a little bit more about their characters and what it’s like to part of this new show. The clip also offers glimpses at the filming process for the show. Meanwhile, the teaser introduces viewers to Jess, the series’ main protagonist.

National Treasure: Edge of History follows 20-year-old Jess Morales, “a clever and resourceful DREAMer” who heads on a quest to uncover the mysteries of her family history and recover a lost Pan American treasure. While the series is set within the same universe as the original movies, it’s meant to be an expansion of that world catered towards a younger audience.

Lisette Olivera leads the cast as Jess, and Justin Bartha returns as tech genius Riley Poole. They are joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jake Austin Walker, Lyndon Smith, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, and Jordan Rodrigues.

Franchise alums Cormac and Marianne Wibberley return as writers and executive produce with Jon Turteltaub and Jerry Bruckheimer, both of whom produced the movies. Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reid, and Rick Muirragui executive produce. Mira Nair will serve as a director.

National Treasure: Edge of History is coming soon to Disney+. Check out the BTS featurette and teaser below and keep up with our ongoing coverage of the series here. Meanwhile, stream National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets now on Disney+.
