‘Abbott Elementary’ Receives Full Season 2 Order

According to Deadline, single-camera mockumentary Abbott Elementary has just received a rare full season order from ABC for its second season! While season 1 was only 13 episodes, season 2 will be 22! The comedy debuted its freshman season to high popularity and is nominated for a whopping seven Emmys this season.

Created, executive produced, and starring Quinta Brunson (nominated for three Emmys herself), Abbott Elementary follows new teacher Jeanine Teagues (Brunson) and her zany colleagues’ adventures trying to make a difference at Abbott Elementary, an underfunded public school in Philadelphia.

Abbott Elementary season 2 premieres on September 21 in a new Wednesday timeslot at 9 p.m. ET. Season 1 is currently available to stream on Hulu. Stay tuned for our episodic recaps and other continuing coverage!
