‘The Sandman’: Netflix Unveils Trailer, Posters, & Release Date for Upcoming Neil Gaiman Adaptation

The Master of Dreams will awaken August 5, 2022.

As part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, the trailer and a set of new posters have been unveiled for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman.

The Sandman was first published in 1988 by DC Comics and written by then-up-and-comer Gaiman as a reinvention of the obscure character, Morpheus. The story was originally marketed in the horror genre on the comic book market, but received overwhelming success with readers outside of the comic book market. Gaiman says he was first offered to turn the story into a film in 1991, but it has taken three decades for the screen rights to come to fruition.

Check out the trailer for The Sandman below, and tune in for the series when it releases on Netflix August 5. Follow along with Nerds & Beyond here for any future updates on the series.
