The anticipated sequel of the 2009 movie Avatar has a title. Avatar 2 will be called Avatar: The Way of Water. It also has been revealed that the movie will be out in theaters on December 16, 2022.
Avatar: The Way of Water is set more than a decade after the first film and will follow the Sully family:
Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.
The Way of Water is directed by James Cameron and the screenplay is written by Cameron and Josh Friedman.
Sam Worthington (Jake Sully), Michelle Yeoh (Dr Karina Mogue), Zoe Saldana (Neytiri), CCH Pounder (Mo’at), Kate Winslet (Ronal), Cliff Curtis (Tonowari), Britain Dalton (Lo’ak) and Jamie Flatters (Neteyam) are starring in the movie.
Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in theater on December 16, 2022.
