HANSON Releases New Single Featuring Shinedown’s Zach Myers with Video Starring Frankie Muniz

HANSON

The multi-platinum, three-time Grammy Award-nominated pop-rock trio HANSON released the third single from their upcoming album RED GREEN BLUE.

The new song “Don’t Let Me Down” features Zach Myers from Shinedown and is written by Zac Hanson. He also co-produced the track alongside Grammy Award-winning Producer/Engineer/Mixer Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Wilco) and Grammy Award-winning Artist/Producer David Garza (Fiona Apple, Midland). A rock-infused pop track, the song is available now across all streaming platforms. At the same time, a hilarious music video featuring the band, Myers, and actor Frankie Muniz is now available on YouTube, or you can check it out below.

When asked about the track, Zac Hanson said, “‘Don’t Let Me Down’ is a song all about seizing your moment. It’s about living up to your potential. We all need encouragement to overcome the barriers in our lives, but ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ is a personal message — I wrote it to myself. As I was facing the challenge of writing a solo project for the first time, I needed to hear, ‘don’t let me down; your moment is now.'”

When asked about his appearance in the video, Muniz called it a “dream,” saying, “We’ve all been really good friends for over 20 years. So when Zac asked me to be in a video, I thought it would be the ultimate gig for me because it was my dream as a kid to be a member of HANSON, and now I’m getting to fulfill that dream.” Myers, meanwhile, said his part of the collaboration came out of mutual friendship, and he thought the project was “a really cool and such an original idea” and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

With a release date of Friday, May 20, RED GREEN BLUE is available now for pre-order on vinyl, CD, and digital. The album marks HANSON’s 30th anniversary and is a creatively unique project for the band, as it comprises three solo-led projects, one from each band member. Each project consists of five tracks, with Taylor writing and producing RED, Isaac GREEN, and Zac BLUE. With the release of Zac’s “Don’t Let Me Down,” fans can catch a glimpse of each of the brothers’ styles as the first single, “Child at Heart,” came from Taylor, and the second single, “Write You A Song” from Isaac.
