After the epic ending to the first phase of Star Wars: The High Republic, fans are now getting a first look at Phase II. The Star Wars: The High Republic Show revealed the cover art for a new book as well as concept art for a new character.
The cover art is for the young adult novel Star Wars: The High Republic: Path of Deceit, which is written by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland. According to StarWars.com, the story will feature a Pantoran Jedi, known only as “the Mother,” and a new Evereni character, Marda Ro, who we can only assume has some relation to Phase I’s antagonist, Marchion Ro.

We got a first look at Marda with new concept art. While she is of the same species as the Nihil leader, Marda is “quiet, calm, and collected” and is “a peaceful presence in this era about 150 years before the events of Phase I,” a total opposite of Marchion.
Three new authors are joining the High Republic team. Gratton, Zoraida Córdova, Lydia Kang, and George Mann are teaming up with the Phase I authors Ireland, Daniel José Older, Claudia Gray, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule.
Older, Gary, Ireland, Scott, and Soule will all be guests at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, so we could get more High Republic news then. The convention takes place May 26-29.
