Over a year after the idea of a Spy Kids reboot was first announced, Netflix has made things official. A Spy Kids movie is coming to Netflix!

Back in January of 2021, Skydance Media, alongside Spy Kids original producers Spyglass Media and creator Robert Rodriguez, announced that they were working on a reboot of the hit film series. Now, after a year of radio silence, it looks like the project is finally moving forward.

The early 2000s action-adventure franchise featured Alexa Pena Vega and Daryl Sabara as Carmen and Juni Cortez, siblings who discover that their parents are super spies and ultimately become spies themselves to save their parents (Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino). Casting and plot information for the upcoming reboot have yet to be announced. However, with Robert Rodriguez returning to write and direct, fans can count on the reboot to hold its own against its predecessors.
