Everyone’s Favorite Family of Spies Is Coming Back! A ‘Spy Kids’ Reboot Is in the Works

Robert Rodriguez has put out his fair share of cool action-packed, family friendly movies, but for many nothing will ever top his story of a family of spies: the Spy Kids franchise. And now a new generation will get to enjoy the story as Skydance Media, alongside original producers Spyglass Media, and Robert Rodriguez are rebooting the franchise.

It has been confirmed that Rodriguez will return to write and direct, and while plot details are still short, it is likely that the film will stay true to the spirit of the original and center on the adventures of a multicultural family. While the original Spy Kids film from 2001 stared Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa Vega, and Daryl Sabata, we have no word yet on whether any of them will return for the reboot. However, when we know, you’ll know.
