Get ready to shoulder The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, just like Nicolas Cage.

Lionsgate has released the official redband trailer for their upcoming comedy-action film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent starring Nicolas Cage as … Nick Cage and Pedro Pascal as Javi Gutierrez.

The trailer featured a slew of new content and a brand new twist: Javi is one of the most ruthless men in the world. It’ll be Nick’s new task to take down Javi at the request of the CIA, but unfortunately, it looks like the two have bonded … which might muck things up a bit.

New stills of the film were released in celebration of this momentous occasion as well.

Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nick Cage.

Directed by Tom Gormican with a screenplay co-written with Kevin Etten, the film also stars Neil Patrick Harris as Cage’s agent, Sharon Horgan as his ex-wife, Lily Sheen as his daughter, Ike Barinholtz as Martin, Alessandra Mastronardi as Gabriella, and Jacob Scipio as Carlos.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent releases exclusively in theaters April 22, 2022.
