‘The Umbrella Academy’: New Season 3 Posters Released
As we eagerly await the return of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, a series of posters featuring some of our beloved Hargreeves siblings has just been released (and it’s fitting, given that the first season premiered three years ago today). This follows the reveal of the poster set for the Sparrow Academy, who will be the latest super-team turning heads in the upcoming third season.
Based on the comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, The Umbrella Academy follows the story of the Hargreeves children. On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants were inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven were adopted by a billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who created The Umbrella Academy and prepared his “children” to save the world.
The first season saw the six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father’s passing and work together to solve a mystery surrounding his death amid the imminent threat of a global apocalypse. Meanwhile, season 2 found the siblings scattered in time throughout the 60s, once again with another nuclear doomsday on the horizon thanks to their disruption of the timeline.
Now, season 3 will usher in the era of the Sparrow Academy. When the Hargreeves found their way back to the Umbrella Academy mansion in the present day after their tumble through time, they found that they had been replaced, as Reginald had opted to choose a different batch of super-powered children on that fateful day in 1989.
Check out the new posters below, which feature Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), Aidan Gallagher (Five), and Elliot Page (Vanya). And although Lila Pitts isn’t a Hargreeves sibling, Ritu Arya also received her own poster as well! The state of their umbrellas doesn’t bode well for their upcoming face off with their replacements …
In addition to the return of Justin H. Min as Ben, the Sparrow Academy will include Justin Cornwell as Marcus, Britne Oldford as Fei, Jake Epstein as Alphonso, Genesis Rodriguez as Sloane, Cazzie David as Jayme, and Christopher the dread-inducing cube.
Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy is due to arrive on Netflix this year, but an exact release date has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for more news!
